Fighter's Personality-
Kasumi is a fairly serious individual due to the circumstances in her life. But she still enjoys having a good time and the things teenagers traditionally enjoy(parties, hanging out, etc). She doesn't tend to trust easily though keeping friendships casual rather than close.

Fighter's Equipment-
Kasumi's only piece of combat equipment is her short sword. It has a 3' blade.

Abilities, Powers, Skills-
Sword use-Kasumi has recieved some basic training in the use of the sword. On the other hand she's been at it for a short time and isn't picking it up as well as she seems to pick up the mystic arts. Simply put, she sees using a sword as a last resort.

Sorcery-Kasumi's real strength lies in her skills in the mystic arts. Her grandmother began training her in them at the age of five. The magic that Kasumi is trained in taps both upon the external world and internally. This means that as she uses magic it can tire her like an extended sword fight can tire a warrior. Simple spells she can pretty much use at will but heavier stuff can drain her fast.

I'm using a variation of the AD&D system actually for her magic purposes. She's kind of like an AD&D 11th level wizard but instead of spells per level I've given her spell points(level 1 spells=1 point, level 2=2 points, etc). She can access all of her magic without memorization unlike the AD&D mages though. She can use lesser magic(cantrips and level 1 AD&D equivalents) without draining herself. Levels 2-5 drain though. When she loses the equivalent of half her points she starts feeling tired, the more past half she drains the more exhausted she is.

Schools of Magic and what each does

Invocation/Evocation-This is the summoning of magical energy into an elemental force. Fireballs, Lightning Bolts, Magic Missles, and the like come from this school. Kasumi favors this category of magic.

Illusion/Phantasm-This is the creation of illusions. Plain and simple. Phantasmal Force and Invisibility are example spells. Kasumi doesn't know much of this school and basically only uses the simplest spells in it.

Conjuration/Summoning-The bringing of stuff from one area to another. Monster summoning spells and acid arrows are examples of this school. Kasumi likes the direct applications such as the acid arrow. She hasn't learned any monster summoning spells, she'd like to though.

Divination-Spells to gather information. Detect Magic, True Seeing, and the like fit in this category. Kasumi has a fair mix of these spells.

Alteration-These spells alter physical properties. Flight, Haste, and Burning Hands come from this category. This is Kasumi's specialty.

Necromancy-Spells of life, death, and undeath. Enervation and Animate Dead would be such a spell. Kasumi barely touches this school of magic as it kind of disturbs her.

Enchantment/Charm-These are spells to enchant objects or effect the mind. Enchant weapon and Charm Person are examples. Kasumi uses some stuff from the school but not much.

Abjuration-This is protective magic. Antimagic Aura, Dispel Magic, and ruby ray of reversal are such spells. Kasumi has shown moderate proficiency here.

Cantrip(0)-This covers super minor non combat stuff such as making a tiny illusion that only appears in her hand or so on.

Magic Missle(1)-five tiny darts of energy. Like getting hit by darts but less damage and more pain.
Affect Normal Fires(1)-Can put out a small non magical fire(10' radius) instantaniously or make it glow brighter.
Burning Hands(1)-Make her hands burst with flame for about a minute.
Detect Magic(1)-Nuff' said
Feather Fall(1)-Makes the caster as light as a feather(good for falls, bad as she can be blown off course). *L*
Grease(1)-Coats the ground in a very slippery substance
Light(1)-Creates a globe of light
Shocking Grasp(1)-The caster's hands are coated in electricity for about a minute.
Sleep(1)-Puts people to sleep. This spell can't be used in tournaments.
Wall of Fog(1)-Creates fog.
Protection from Vermin(1)-Creates an aura around the caster that small animals such as rats, insects, and the like can't abide.

Blur(2)-This distorts the caster's image making it hard to see precisely where she or her body parts are or read her movements.
Flaming Sphere(2)-Creates a small sphere(2' diameter) of flame.
Acid Arrow(2)-Fires an arrow made of acid
Stinking Cloud(2)-Creates a cloud of horrible smelling gas. Not fatal but painful(and smelly).
Strength(2)-Doubles someone's physical strength
Web(2)-Fires a net like spider web. Strong and sticky.
Wizard Lock(2)-Uses magical energy to keep a door shut.
Dancing Whip(2)-Creates a whip of magical force that fights on it's own like a normal whip(but with no wielder)

Dispel Magic(3)-Dispels Magic.
Fireball(3)-Creates a fireball.
Flame Arrow(3)-Creates a pair of flaming arrows(piercing and fire damage).
Fly(3)-Lets someone fly for about an hour.
Haste(3)-Lets someone move with enhanced speed.
Lightning Bolt(3)-Creates a lightning bolt
Water Breathing(3)-Lets someone breath underwater.
Gust of Wind(3)-Creates a moderate breeze.
Lance of Disruption(3)-Creates a lance of force that does strikes as a solid blow from a heavy blunt object.
Enlarge/Reduce(3)-In AD&D this is level 1 but it's stronger in a RF so I'm upping it's level. It either increases something's size by 110% or cut's it down to 1/11th of it's normal size. Kasumi can't use the reduce spell on others in a RF(that'd be unfair). She can still use it on physical objects such as rocks and the like though. Also she can't use it on her opponent's equipment.

Emotion(4)-Inflicts an emotional state that can help or hinder someone.
Enchanted Weapon(4)-Embues a weapon with greater strength and sharpness(if edged).
Polymorph Self(4)-Can transform self into any form from the size of a rat to as large as a gryphon. Only physical abilities are acquired such as flight(if wings) or waterbreathing(if gills). Can't take the form of a magical creature such as a dragon or undead. In tournaments she's limited to animals of her size or smaller. Out of them she gets up to gryphon sized.
Polymorph Other(4)-Like self but used on someone else. Not usable in a tournament.
Stoneskin(4)-Makes one's skin as hard as stone. I'm thinking I'm going to disable this one for tournaments. Tenko and Gally's call. *L*
Wall of Fire(4)-Creates a wall of fire.
Wall of Ice(4)-Creates a wall of ice.
Fire Aura(4)-Surrounds the caster in flames for a short period.

Cone of Cold(5)-Creates a cone of chilling frost.
Passwall(5)-Lets the caster walk through a wall or other physical object.
Teleport(5)-Does what it says. Note this won't be used in a tourny except as a form of acknowleding defeat(namely teleporting out of the fight completely).
Stone to Mud(5)-Turns stone to mud
Wall of Iron(5)-Creates a wall of iron.
Wall of Stone(5)-Creates a wall of stone.
Wall of Force(5)-Creates a 10'X10' or smaller wall of solid force(like a forcefield).
Rusting Grasp(5)-The caster's touch makes metal objects rust at an unbelievable rate.
Destructive Resonance(5)-A beam that causes inanimate objects to detonate. Small objects detonate fast but affect a small area. Large objects engulf more area but take more time to reach the destructive resonance.(For RP and non tournament RFs only).

Background-
Kasumi was born in Tokyo, Japan. Her mother died in childbirth and her father became very distant leaving most of her caretaking in the hands of her grandmother. At five years of age her grandmother started teaching her the ways of magic. She told Kasumi that it'd be necessary in the future but never said why. Touching the paths of magic marked her as "different". As she went through school other children avoided her if she was lucky or were cruel to her if she wasn't so lucky. One time when she was 10 she cast a spell in anger on one of the children that were tormenting her. Luckily the child survived and couldn't remember what Kasumi had done. After this event Kasumi isolated herself even more. Her grandmother looked at her that day but didn't say a word and just kept on teaching. On Kasumi's 16th birthday she came home and found her grandmother and father both dead, her father gutted and her grandmother burned. She ran away after that, not sure where to go or what to do. She's been living precariously since then, taking odd jobs, usually of the unsavory variety(running money, protection racket, guarding a crime boss, etc). She doesn't like doing it but she wants to survive and this is the only way she knows how. It's during this most recent year where she's begun recieving training in the sword from a member of a Tong that currently employs her.
