![]() ![]() RULES OF MOTORBALL
===RULES OF RACING===
Here's how the race itself works: There are 24 sections to the motorball track. All combatants start in the first section. Every time you post, you have 3 decisions:
You may move forward to the next section.
You may move backwards to the previous section.
You may stay in the same place.
However, there is a catch. In order to move from one section to the next, your post must take place at least 2 hours after the last post in which you moved. This is true whether you are moving forwards or backwards.
Although you may only move from one section to the next every 2 hours, you may post as often as you like. You will probably need to, especially if you are the possessor of the motorball and you need to fend off attacks.
If you accidentally post your move too early, all you have to do is copy your post, delete it, and post it again at the appropriate time. Otherwise, your move will be nullified.
If you are just starting the race, you may move at any time.
===RULES OF ATTACK===
If the motorball is taken before you can get to it, then you will either have to attack your opponent, or somehow try to snatch the ball away from them. In motorball racing, you are allowed to attack your opponents at any time, with one catch: only melee attacks are allowed. Hand-to-hand only. You may use melee weapons like energy swords or swinging chains, but you may only attack one opponent at a time. Attempting to attack multiple opponents at the same time will result in a penalty. No magic attacks or missile attacks of any kind are allowed. This means no guns, or blasts, or any type of attack which flies through the air. No telekinetic either. You aren't even allowed to throw your weapon, as this is technically classified as a missile attack.
Attacks work like this: if you attack someone with the motorball, they will be required to respond in a day's time. When they respond, both competitors will wait until the judge evaluates the exchange and declares the outcome. This should happen fairly quick.
You are allowed to attack someone who does not possess the motorball. Same rules as above, only they are not required to respond within a day. You must wait until they respond before taking any other actions. However, you may cancel your attack if you feel you have been left waiting too long.
If you possess the motorball, and you are attacked, you have a 1 day time limit to respond. If you don't respond within 1 day from the time the attack is posted, your attacker is automatically successful and receives possession of the motorball. Although you have a day to respond, it is advised that the motorball possessor responds as quickly as possible, or else more attacks will pile-up.
If two or more fighters are attacking you at once, and you have not yet responded to any of them, you must then respond to all attacks in the same post. The more fighters attacking you, the less likely it is your defense will be successful.
===MOVING AND ATTACKING===
If your opponent is one section ahead of you, you may move ahead and then attack them in the same post. If you are attacked, you may defend and then move ahead one section in the same post. This is assuming it has been 2 hours since you have last moved, otherwise you will have to wait.
If you are being attacked, simply moving ahead a section is not a proper defense. If the attacker is in the same section as you, you must post your defense first, and you may then move if you like.
If you try to defend and move, and your defense is ruled unsuccessful by the judge, the movement will be nullified.
If an attacker tried to move and attack you, but had not waited 2 hours since his last move, you may ignore the attack without worry. An easy way to determine this is to look at the time of his post.
===THE MOTORBALL TRACK===
There are a certain number of sections for every particular track. You are allowed to move forward or backwards on the track at your leisure. The track loops, so moving backwards from section 1 will take you to the last section.
Certain sections will have obstacles and hazards. If you are in a section with certain hazards, then you must account for them every time you post in that section. This is especially true when fighting. If you fail to do so, there is a chance some misfortune may befall you.
Some obstacles will be difficult, and your defense will have to be top notch, or else you may be hit by them anyway.
It should be noted that FLYING IS STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED.
===SECTION LIST===
Every track will have a section list. This list should be referred to regarding the dangers of any particular section.
