![]() Ezra Gabriel
![]() Age: 16
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 131 lbs.
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Dark Brown
Appearance:
A far cry from the timid eleven-year-old who made his UFF debut in the 3rd Annual Tenka-Ichi Budokai, Ezra Gabriel has since grown into a very handsome young man. His facial features are not quite as overtly feminine as they once were, and likewise his body has a degree of muscle covering what was once skin and bone. Ezra dresses like a normal teen his age, with anything from a jersey and jeans to a tank top with swimming trunks. Indeed, he has even broken his old habit of being constantly barefoot, preferring sneakers without socks instead.
Fighter's Personality:
Ezra is still a friendly person at heart, although recent events have given him a much harder edge on life. These days, Ezra prefers to avoid close attachments to other people, save for those already close to his heart. Cooperation is rarely a problem, however, assuming whomever he works with can stand being around a slightly hormonal homosexual teenager.
Fighter's Overall Style:
Advanced Psychic Powers
Judo
Tae Kwon Do
Short Sword Proficiency
Acrobatics
Abilities/Powers/Skills:
a.) Flight- Using telekinesis, Ezra can propel his body into the air and control his destination effortlessly with his thoughts.
b.) Telekinesis- The psychic ability to move objects with one's mind. Ezra is quite proficient with its use, but doesn't see it as a permanant solution to battle. While its long-range potential goes without saying, Ezra has learned to use telekinesis to augment his physical strength. By channeling his telekinetic force into his arms and legs, he is now capable of striking at his opponents with physical force far exceeding conventional ideas of superhuman strength. Able to affect energy as well as solid matter with equal accuracy, this is undoubtedly the most developed and precise of Ezra's powers.
c.) Psychic Energy Manipulation- Ezra has the ability to transform his raw psychic energy into multiple constructs to use against his opponent. This ability is very flexible, ranging from basic tendrils of power to extra limbs and separate creatures made entirely of psychic energy. These alternative applications of energy are usually found as replacement limbs for those lost, or as supplements for other attacks, however other uses are not unheard of. A favorite trick of Ezra's involves the use of this power to create a mighty golem out of psychic energy. The construct is known to be incredibly powerful and capable of reconstructing itself after being dispursed, however as long as it remains in existence, Ezra's other psychic powers become unavailable to him.
d.) Mindshock- A basic psychic-charged projectile energy blast, Mindshock can be released from either his hands, feet, or head. Its effect varies from time to time, but usually appears in the form of a concussive burst of energy.
e.) Energy Reflection- By concentrating psychic energy, Ezra can create a mirror-like wall of energy able to reflect any energy attacks (including those generated by scientific weapons).
f.) Psychic Barrier- By concentrating even harder on his psychic power, Ezra can expand his psychic wall's powers to deflect physical attacks in addition to energy. These include bullets, missiles, etc. However, this move takes more concentration than most, so its use is limited to extreme situations.
g.) Flash of Foresight- Another very taxing move, Ezra can sense a dangerous event seconds before it actually occurs. Ezra has honed this ability well since he was a child, and it no longer manifests itself as a disorienting burst of information. Ezra has made Flash of Foresight much more reliable now, and rather than happening very rarely, it functions as a sixth "danger sense", warning him about impending doom similar to Spider-Man's Spider-sense.
h.) Impossible Flexibility- Though not a special power or supernatural by any means, years of developing his small, lithe body through acrobatics have enabled Ezra to perform feats of flexibility that seem impossible to the everyday person. In addition to skills akin to a professional contortionist, Ezra has taught himself to become omnidextrous, and thus can use his feet just as easily and naturally as his hands for most tasks.
i.) Psychic Hell- Ezra's most powerful psychic attack. It takes most of the boy's concentration to pull this move off, and his psychic abilities become totally dormant for a short period afterwards, but well worth the cost. Psychic Hell is an extremely potent energy attack, known at its highest concentration to be more than enough to level a small town. Its energy content is always of a concussive psychic nature, and manifests itself as either a beam or a sphere, launched from a location of Ezra's choice (as long as Ezra can see where he wants it to appear from).
j.) Telepathy- Ezra has mastered the fine art of communicating with another sentient being through their thoughts. Not only does this power allow him a greater range of communication with his allies, it also gives him the ability to track down his enemies. With a little extra concentration, Ezra can create a telepathic link between a group of up to ten people, within which all parties will be able to speak telepathically with the other members of the group.
Fighter's Weapons/Equipment:
1.) First Aid Kit-
Very useful for emergencies, Ezra still keeps one close at hand in a backpack or duffel bag.
2.) Twin Short Swords-
Two stainless steel blades reinforced with a thin layer of adamantium, these swords were given to Ezra after he saved the life of a famous movie star's son (whom he happened to be dating at the time).
Background:
After making his debut in the UFF at the start of the 3rd Tenkaichi Budokai, Ezra's life was thrust into chaos with a sequence of events that led to, among other things, the severe beating of one of his fans in front of his eyes, a battle with a minotaur in a witch's cave, participation in the Chaos Zone tournament, and the death of his ex-boyfriend, Ladd Benedict. His spirit broken from the loss, Ezra left the UFF without a word, solemnly boarding a boat and sailing away from the island that brought him nothing but pain.
Ezra Gabriel returned to his home in Minnesota, USA, hoping to find peace with the mundane life he once enjoyed with his foster parents. Unfortunately, rather than becoming a stabilizing force in his life, suburbia became his personal hell, a prison that stifled him not only creatively, but literally. He was not allowed to display even the smallest bit of psychic power within the city limits due to a recent piece of legislature that banned the use of metahuman powers in the state of Minnesota. Ironically, the legislation passed only after the 3rd Tenkaichi Budokai was televised, particularly because the first round featured an eleven-year-old Ezra in battle against a heavily-armed soldier by the name of Scott.
Ezra knew he was suffocating where he lived, so he resolved to leave his home in Minnesota to see the world. Money was no longer a problem due to the royalties he was being paid for the round-the-clock Pay Per View broadcasts of the 3rd Tenkaichi Budokai, thus freeing Ezra to quite literally fly away to his destiny. For five long years, Ezra wandered the globe, determined to find his place in the world.
Spending a substantial amount of this time in Japan and Korea, Ezra focused on a new goal; to become vastly more effective in hand-to-hand combat. His biggest weakness as a child had been his inability to fight without his psychic powers, but after spending most of five years training in Judo, Tae Kwon Do, and swordfighting, Ezra made certain to condition his body to rival his mind in terms of power and skill.
Although Ezra trained his body vigorously during his absence, he by no means ignored his mind. The boy, now growing into a handsome young adult, worked to perfect his telekinesis, eventually channeling it into his fists to produce punches and kicks that could pound through solid stone with ease. He eliminated the limitations on many of his existing powers, and even developed a high degree of telepathy during his training.
After his training was complete, Ezra returned to the USA, finally settling in San Francisco, California. It was there that he met his new boyfriend, Xavier Strongheart. Xavier was the son of Mackey "Maximum" Strongheart, a famous action movie star in the 1980s. With Xavier around to fill the void Ladd's death had left in his soul, Ezra truly believed his fighting days were finally over.
A few months later, while dancing together at a night club, the pair were approached by four street toughs who recognized Ezra from the 3rd Budokai. They carelessly knocked Xavier to the floor and demanded that Ezra fight with them. Ezra respectfully declined, not knowing that the four thugs were, in fact, high-level ki users and knew full well what they were getting into.
In a frustrated attempt to force Ezra to fight with them, one of the thugs threatened to kill Xavier in a fit of rage. Furious and appalled at the brutality the men displayed, Ezra responded by slamming the four warriors through the club's brick wall and into the docks outside.
Surprisingly unfazed, the four hoodlums rushed Ezra with enough multicolored ki blasts to make a fireworks display look dull. Far more experienced than his enemies, Ezra made relatively short work of the upstart street fighters. Even so, the four were no pushovers by any stretch of the imagination. Ezra knew that if they had come to challenge him only five short years ago, there was no doubt that they would have killed him. In the heat of battle, Ezra's thrill-seeking urges took over again, and he remembered the hightened adrenaline he felt soaring over the snow-covered mountains during the Chaos Zone tournament. That memory sparked a flash flood of memories of the UFF... Memories of good friends, dangerous battles, and the thrill of defeating a worthy foe.
Ezra found his calling once more; the battlefield.
