Aki is a very short, frail looking girl. Looks can be deceiving, though, and though she appears weak she can pack quite a punch when she puts all her strength behind it. Still, this isn't much compared to a lot of physically powerful people, but she has learned to get by with what she has. She has rich mahogany brown hair the exact same shade as her eyes, which seems to always find a way to escape whatever restraints she tries to put on it to keep it out of her face. She tries at all time to keep her appearance neat and tidy. She is not stunningly beautiful, but has a certain air about her that draws and catches attention and makes people remember her face.
Personality:
Like most young people, Aki likes to have a good time, as long as doing so doesn't interfere with whatever mission she is currently assigned to. She is not easily sidetracked from her goals, and will deal harshly with anyone who tries to stand in her way. But, when treated with fairness and respect, she is very pleasant and friendly, almost to a fault. She doesn't make true friends very easily, but those who achieve that status are people she believes she can trust with her life. Very few people know about her past, and Aki will not discuss her past beyone short and rather terse one sentence replies.

Weapons/Equipment:
Aki's only weapon is her staff. It is solid, magically reinforced mahogany, the densest and hardest wood known to exist. It is enchanted to weigh hardly anything while in Aki's hands.
The backpack that Aki carries is the equivalent to a Bag of Holding in D&D. Part of its enchantment makes it very lightweight, and she can store literally anything in it. Whetever is inside that she needs will come immediately to her hand when she reaches in. Even food stored in the bag will stay fresh. She keeps a lare supply of potions and other usful items in the bag, in addition to her wardrobe and other necessities.
History/Life Story:
(Note: If you haven't played FFX yet then don't read this. Contains some spoilers.)
Aki is the granddaughter of Squall and Rinoa on her mother's side. Her mother married a man from a foreign world called Spira and moved to his world with him, which is where Aki was born. They lived in a city called Zanarkand until Aki was ten years old. Then war broke out, and another city on Spira called Bevelle viciously attacked and destroyed Zanarkand.
Her father was killed during the battle, but Aki and her mother survived. They found one of the Bevelle spacecrafts that had been left behind but still worked, but it was a one-man craft and her mother packed Aki into the deep sleep chamber and sent her off, fearing that the soldiers from Bevelle would be back.
For over two hundred years the ship orbited around the planet, becoming nothing more than another star to the inhabitants of the planet below as the new religion that dominated society decreed the use of machina to be heresy, and the people forgot that such things as space ships once existed. Finally, the ship's orbit decayed and it crashed to the surface, where natives of the island of Besaid rescued Aki. She was raised as an orphan by the priests of Besaid Temple, her memory of where she had come from foggy and unclear after the long sleep and trauma from the crash. The people told her she had merely been too close to the toxin.
When she was fifteen she started having strange dreams that confused even the priests of the temple. She decided to become a Summoner, hoping that by speaking with the Fayth she could understand. She undertook a pilgrimage from Temple to Temple across Spira, meeting many people but learning little. Finally, she reached the summit of Mt. Gadgazet and saw for herself the ruins of her old home...Zanarkand. The images in her dreams became understandable to her finally, but she still was confused, because in her dreams the ruins had been alive with people while what she saw was obviously long dead.
Then she met the Fayth, and found her mother. After the destruction of Zanarkand, the survivors had all become Fayth, and now dreamed of what the long gone city had once been. Aki's mother re-awakened her memory, and told her about her past, about her parents, and also about another world where her mother had been born. Finally, she told Aki where the ship that she and Aki's father had used to come to Spira was, and told her that if she felt she had nowhere else to go she could go home.
Embittered by this knowledge, Aki searched out and found the ship beneath the Zanarkand ruins, and decided to leave the people who had been responsible for the destruction of her home to deal with their problems themselves. The ship launched, and the auto-pilot navigated her back to the planet of her mothers birth, where Aki was introduced suddenly to a very high-tech society that at first confused and frightened her.
The mention of her mother's maiden name, Leonhart, drew instant attention and Aki found herself at a training school where she was introduced to a man named Sidney to whom she told her story. She found out that Sidney was her cousin many times removed, his father's father's father's grandfather having been the brother of Aki's mother. He was the Headmaster of Balamb Garden, a training academy for elite soldiers known as SeeDs. Having nowhere else to go, Aki requested to be allowed to become a student as her grandfather had been. After a demonstration of her skill with magic and the phenomenon of the Aeon's (which had, for whatever their reason, chosen to continue to give Aki their support), Sidney agreed to admit her even though she did not physically appear capable.
Aki decided to take her mother's maiden name, and graduated the Academy with top honors in three years at age eighteen. She has become Headmaster Sidney's personal agent, and he sends her on his most secretive and dangerous of missions, confident of her capabilities and trusting in family to not let him down. Her latest mission has brought her to the UFF Island with a list of names.
