![]() Physical Appearance:
Age: Over two millennia (Looks like mid 20's)
Height: 6' 6"
Weight: 280 lb.

Personality: Derracles is an explorer and scholar. He is constantly curious and looks for new ideas and concepts to add to his already extensive knowledge. He treats his creations like his children, and talks to them sometimes. Stubborn and proud, he clings to his own ways most of the time, but will take the time to listen to others. Influenced by his heroic uncle, he helps those in need wherever he is, respects life, and never backs down from a fight. However, he's made mistakes in the past, and sometimes they come back to haunt him.
Fighting Style:
Wrestling/Medieval Weaponry/Brawling/Guns/Divine Power
Powers/Abilities/Skills:
Super-strength: Derracles can press 50 tons, allowing him to shatter stone and bend cars with his bare hands.
Hyper-durability: Derracles is highly resistant to injury, and cannot be harmed by most conventional weaponry. Lasers only cause first and second-degree burns, and rail-guns leave bruises.
Hyper-endurance: Derracles can perform intense physical labor for hours at a time.
Hyper-intelligence: Derracles can absorb tremendous amounts of information and apply it swiftly.
Immunities: Two gifts from his father, Derracles cannot be harmed by flame, natural or otherwise, and cannot be physically bound. Chains, manacles, holds, and locks are easily escapable for him.
Fire generation: Derracles can make large balls of flame and throw them. They explode upon impact.
Teleportation: With a thought, Derracles can teleport anywhere within 50 miles.
Energy/matter manipulation: The greatest power that Derracles possesses, he can alter matter and energy on a subatomic level within a range of one mile. He can use this power to make or change anything he can understand. He can also use this power to turn energy into matter and vice versa. This power has several limitations. He can't make or change anything he can't understand. He is limited to altering only what is within range of his power. He can't change anything unnaturally, such as switching the mass of steel and paper. He can't affect psychic, magical or chi energies and items. Lastly, he can't affect living matter.
Berserker Rage: One of the gifts of his Amazon heritage, Derracles can summon intense anger to fight all-out. During his berserker rage, he ignores pain, injury and fatigue and attacks the subject of his hostility ruthlessly and mercilessly. This rage can last up to three minutes, and can be voluntarily terminated before the end of the three minutes. He can do this three times per day, and once per fight.
Danger Sense: Derracles can react to danger before his senses would normally allow him to do so. Derracles is also naturally intuitive to traps.
Swift Feet: Derracles is faster on his feet than man a man his size should be.
Enhanced Reaction: Derracles is able to fight multiple opponents as well as he can singular opponents, regardless of their relative positions to him.
Weapons/Equipment:
Meteor: His greatest creation, Derracles wields this warhammer as his primary weapon. The hammer has a large head and a four foot handle wrapped in leather. The head of the hammer has a flat striking surface on one side and a curved spike on the other. Meteor can't be used to harm others except by Derracles. The hammer weighs 50 pounds. Derracles can throw the hammer at speeds up to 200 miles per hour. Meteor can track its target when it's thrown and change course to hit it. Meteor can maintain the same speed it's thrown at until it hits it's target. The hammer can return to Derracles' hand, and will travel any distance to do so. Derracles has learned how to create an explosion by throwing the hammer high so that he can drop it from a great height and cause massive damage. Meteor allows Derracles to travel through time, up to a week at a time. Meteor can boost the strength of all of his physical powers while Derracles holds it. Meteor is nigh indestructible, and it would take an incredible amount of power to destroy it.
Comet: Derracles' secondary weapon, Comet is a much smaller hammer than Meteor. Blunt edges all around, the head is rectangular and a foot long. The handle is two feet long. Comet can change shape and become an array of tools and weaponry, from a chisel to a sword. It can also summon cold winds to chill an opponent or to knock them off their feet. It can merge with Meteor and become the MC Hammer. The MC Hammer has all the powers of both hammers.
Promethean Bracers: A set of thick steel bracers, they generate two different shields. The first surrounds Derracles with a translucent shield that can protect him for a limited time. The second creates a three-foot opaque shield next to either of bracers. This shield is fairly permanent, and is highly impenetrable.
Pegasus Boots: Derracles' boots grant him subsonic flight.
The Goody Bag: A gift from his father, this bag gives him access to his armory onboard his starship, the Castalia. His armory includes conventional firearms, beam weapons, and some more exotic weapons.
History/Life Story:
Derracles is the son Hephaestus, Greek god of the forge and fire, and Anitope, the ruthless Amazon queen of the Crimson Tide Amazons. During a conflict with a local kingdom, her enemies managed to capture the contents of the Crimson Tide's armory. Left with only a few weapons to defend themselves, The Amazons prayed to Hephaestus for aid. He answered the call, but wanted their queen as a lover in return. They agreed, and the Amazons were given some of the finest steel weapons in Greece. The Crimson Tide tribe showed no mercy to their enemies, and killed most of the enemy army. After all the battles were over, Hephaestus claimed Anitope. He kept her for over a month, and when she returned to her tribe, she was pregnant. When the baby was born, he was abandoned in the wilderness to die. Anitope would have killed him outright if not for the fact he was the son of a god and didn't want to draw the wrath of Hephaestus down on herself or her tribe.
Seeing this, the god came to the mortal world and took his son back with him to his smithy. To protect the baby in case of an accident, Hephaestus made Derracles immune to fire, to protect him from the fires of the smithy and immune to physical binding so that he wouldn't get caught in one of Hephaestus' contraptions.
Derracles spent most of his childhood living amongst the Olympian gods. His father often put him in the care of the other gods, in order to work undisturbed. Many were bothered by the boy's insatiable curiosity, and all were bothered by the godling's incredibly keen mind. Derracles learned everything he could from the gods, including their skills and knowledge. Larceny, archery, and musicianship were only a few of the talents the boy developed. By the time he was 12, Hephaestus felt that Derracles was becoming excessively able, and sent him to the mortal world where his uncle Hercules enrolled him in Chieron's Academy, the same school he attended as a child. Derracles breezed through his courses, and his uncanny knack for learning made him popular with many of the other students. A few didn't like him, and they harassed him at every opportunity. Derracles tried to strike back at his detractors by making a laxative from herbs and placing it in the school's well.
His stratagem was flawed, and most of the school became ill except for himself and his first girlfriend, Joria. Derracles was expelled for his actions, and had to return to the company of his father. Hephaestus chose to keep his son in his smithy until he was old enough to survive in the mortal world. Derracles became almost as good a craftsman as his father by the time he was 16, when Hephaestus sent his son out for the last time.
Derracles became an adventurer like his uncle Hercules. His travels took him across the world, but some of his greatest experiences took place in Greece and his greatest enemies were related to him.
His older brothers were monstrous, his aunts and uncles cruel to the mortals that worshipped them, and his worst foe was an evil reflection of himself from another universe. He found others to travel with him, and even restarted his relationship with Joria. He even spent time in the future, and learned the ways of science and technology. Eventually, the greatness of Greece faded, and the gods fell out of favor with the people. Joria broke off their relationship before they were to be married, and in a fit of rage, Derracles entombed her for all time in a mountain.
Distraught over his actions and the changes in the world, Derracles left his era and traveled forward in time. He stopped in almost every century, spending years to decades trying to make up for past misdeed by helping others. Sometimes he would inspire, sometimes he would protect, never taking credit for what he had done and staying unknown. When he reached the early 20th century, he was contacted by men from another universe he had met when he was young. They offered to take him back to the Dead Universe, a continuum void of any natural energy or matter. He accepted, and found the first home he had ever known for millennia.
Derracles spent decades studying and experimenting with anything that stuck his fancy. Creating became his life's work, and he became famous among the inhabitants of the Dead Universe for his skills.
After some time, the same men who had brought Derracles to his new home asked for a favor. A creature of great power, the Nightmare King, had awakened from his centuries-old sleep in the Dreamlands. The Dreamlands, a strange dimension that touched most of the universes in the omniverse, was in danger. Derracles and Realm Walker, a wizard from a dark universe, fought together against the Nightmare King and defeated him, but not before the Nightmare King took his revenge on Derracles. Showing him visions of Joria being buried alive by his own hand, the Nightmare King made sure Derracles could not find peace within himself. He left the Dreamlands and the Dead Universe behind in a starship of his own design, exploring the omniverse and searching for inner harmony.
Note: Derracles is from the world shown in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Xena: Warrior Princess, and Young Hercules.
