Standing at a modest 5'10 and weighing in at 203 lbs, the fighter known to the world as Johnny Zero may not be much to look at. He may even garner a few laughs from the arrogant, but we all know that looks can be decieving, and if you underestimate Johnny Zero, you've pretty much just signed your own termination warrant. JZ is shorter than most male fighters and doesn't have the massive weight of some combatants, but he hits hard and fast, shows little to no remorse, and pretty much plants you on the concrete with extreme effeciency. Johnny Zero is a feline/human hybrid of unknown species.
His eyes are an icy blue/green colour with thin slitted catlike pupils. His auburn hair falls around the sides of his head in a scruffy untamed mess. JZ looks like an average 19 year old male with a few exceptions. He has a pair of pointy cat ears which poke from the top of his head. These ears are covered with a light coat of auburn fur. The ear on the left side is pierced with a single silver ring. Although it is too small to be seen, the ring has the phrase " Precaución Del Tiro Al Viento " (Throw Caution To The Wind) scribed on the inside of it. JZ has a long slender tail, covered in auburn fur, which protrudes through a slit made in the top of his baggy black leather cargo pants, decorated slightly with a red and black barbed wire design (think KroniK).
Under the pants the catboy wears a pair of high impact kneepads. Designed to give protection from the impact of large drops, while not hindering movement. He also waers a pair of elbow pads designed the same way. His black wrestling boots are shaped like normal wrestling gear, except for the crimson shin and toe guard which covers the laces. The boots are covered by the pants so they look almost like black and red sneakers. JZ doesn't wear a shirt while fighting, his chest has a light coat of auburn fur which looks just like human chest hair. He however enters the arena in varying T-Shirts which he usually gives to a fan or balls up and throws into the face of his opponent if he doesn't like them.
Johnny Zero no longer wears fingerless gloves, instead much of his lower arm under the elbow, including his fists is covered in black fist tape, tied like a boxer only looser to allow him to grapple properly. The tape ends on the first phalanx of his fingers, allowing his retractable fingernails/claws to pop out during battle. Last but not least, JZ has shaved down his beard into a short stubbly goutee, making him look a little older than his 19 years.
Personality:
Cocky, ice cold, but still a little likable. Extremely high intellect of psychological behaviour allows him to bait opponents with the greatest of ease. very very sarcastic. In battle becomes like an uncontrollable animal, though working in unicon with the mind of a psychotic genius.
Fighting Style:
Although he is only 19 years old, Johnny Zero is already a master of both freestyle wrestling and judo. This comes from his non stop dedication to learning fighting arts, his natural athletic ability, his catlike agility, speed and hunter's instincts. In fighter's terms, JZ is a grappler. He attacks like a martial artist, but any kicks or punches he throws are usually a diversion so he can get his hands on you to toss you into one of his numerous submission locks or suplex you into the floor. He has even been known to walk into attacks, taking their brunt or using a rope-a-dope technique so he can catch his opponent off guard. Johnny Zero is a master at counters and reversals.
He will most likely bait you into attacking him, studying you so he can find and exploit a weakness. Johnny Zero has a great understanding of the humanoid body, both male and female. He knows where the body is vunerable, even where to apply pressure for the most pain. He knows how to knock a person off their feet, and with his surprising strength he can lift fighters of just about any size. Couple that with his absolute disregard for his own safety, and his willingness to attack from elevated surfaces, and you have a fighter who lives by the creed that it is better for him to use his own body as a ballistic weapon than for someone else to use it as a punching bag.
When it comes to powers, Johnny Zero is not as strong. Actually he has the potential to be incredibly strong in this area, but he hasn't yet achieved it. JZ is connected to what he calls the "Genesis Circuit". Which is basically the life stream. The energy he believes was used to create the world and all life that occupies it. In basic terms, the power of creation. This energy is mallable and can be used for just about anything, if the weilder is a master of controlling it, Johnny Zero however is not. When using the Genesis Circuit, JZ experiences high levels of pain, and after a long time, exhaustion sets in, even the loss of consciousness. He seeks someone to teach him these powers so he can use them and better understand what he is. Until that day however, he only uses his powers in life and death situations, relying on his fighting ability instead to achieve victory.
Powers/Abilities/Skills:
JZ utilizes a variety of suplexes and throws in his repetoire, his two most famous and feared are his cradle fisherman brainbuster and his Vert-A-Breaker suplex which has reduced more than one opponent to quivering wrecks. JZ himself describes it as his opponent suddenly having their spine « Pringle-ized ». However most of his moves are improvised upon the spot.
Johnny is not equipped with superhuman strength, but is fast and agile beyond that of most humans. His claws can shear through flesh and are capable of damaging bone.
Weapons/Equipment:
If you so wish to count it, Johnny Zero's fingernails extend from his fingertips like the claws of a cat. When fully extended they are an inch and a half long and razorsharp. They are also weathered from battle and are almost hard as steel. Although not long they are perfectly suited for gripping into flesh and cutting it severly when dragged across. For weapons, JZ carries a custom made combat knife that is attached in a sheath to one of his pants legs. This knife has a six inch blade, serated on one end, and the handle is shaped like a combination of a military kabar and a throwing knife, He calls the blade "Scylla". For his main weapon however, if a fight calls for armed combat, Johnny taps into the Genesis Circuit and creates a five foot long indescructable kali-yuga fighting rod named "Valkyrie". He uses this rod with the grace of a master. Together, both of these weapons make up what JZ refers to as his "Dirty Pair".
Johnny Zero's clothing and equipment is simple, in fact it looks like he fights in street clothes (typical since he got much of his fighting skill in a shootfighting arena). JZ fights in a pair of baggy black leather cargo pants. They fit loosly, giving his legs freedom of movement and alolowing him to use his agility for some graceful manuevers. Underneath the pants ae a pair of high impact kneepads (described in JZ's appearance section). He also wears pads like this on his elbows. JZ wears a pair of Hardy BoyZ style wrestling boots, complete with shin guard and toe guard. He tapes his fists up to avoid friction burn and other such unpleasantries when fighting. JZ's clothing and equipment are described in greater detail in his physical appearance section.
History/Life Story:
Many fighters in the UFF look only towards the future, trying to see what will happen beforehand, JZ however looks for his past, something that has been lost to him.
Despite his cocky and cool persona, Johnny Zero harbors a tragic past. He was
born as a human to a beautiful redheaded woman named Natalya and his father was a Knight General by the name of Matthius. The small child had been christened with the name Darrian, and was to be the start of a proud lineage of Knights in the honour of his father. That was before, the dark time began.
The proud highland kingdom that Matthius served was embroiled in a war with a dark force known as Gerado and their dark leader H'astur, a twisted Paladin who had become a heretic. H'astur lived only to serve the Goddess of death, Kantaris. The kigdom's army was decimated by H'astur's demonic army, and the kingdom itself was laid to waste. H'astur had the royal family butchered and demanded to see the General of the forces because battle and conquest were the only things that H'astur respected. He had Matthius brought before him and demanded that the Knight help tp lead his army to even greater conquests.
When Matthius responded by spitting in the face of the evil man, he was murdered and his wife Natalya was raped before suffering the same fate as her beloved husband. This left only one living thing that H'astur could destroy in order to forever curse the bloodline.Matthius' only son Darrian. The boy was only seven years old when he saw his entire world crash down around him, but that was only the beginning of his troubles. H'astur had Darrian used as slave labour in one of his "Element Pits", used for mining the precious element Runium.
He was a pit slave until he reached the age of fourteen, when his real torture began. One of H'astur's dark mages, a man by the name of Graviwryn, felt a presence surrounding the young boy. A presence of life itself, stronger than anything he had ever encountered. H'astur was informed and it was decided that perhaps Darrian could be perverted to their evil purpose before the power could be awakened inside of him. He became little more than a guinea pig to the dark mages. Something they could base research and test the!
ir dark arts on. It was during these tests that they stumbled upon something hidden in Darrian's life force.a secret that seemed to have been hidden in his bloodline. H'astur demanded that the secret was to be unlocked, no matter what the cost to the boy. The savage tests were performed, and on the day of Darrian's 15th birthday they were victorious.
Victory however always has its price. The moment that the mage's discovered Darrian's
secret, they unleashed a wave of pure Psonic force throughout their domain. Their minds spiraled quickly past insanity and straight into death. When Darrian realized what had happened he was free from his shackles, free from his tormentors, but they were coming for him. Scared, alone, and confused, Darrian did the one thing he could.he ran. He escaped his tormentors as he ran and hid in a wooded area near a small village. But his torture was still far from over.
As Darrian hid from H'astur's forces, he felt strange things in his body. It was as he was being torn apart inside, like all the fury of hell itself had descended upon him. While he was still conscious his body began an agonizing transformation. His bones shifted about inside of him and his flesh began to contour around them. His teeth lengthened and became sharp. This was his inner secret, the key to unlocking something that had been lost ages ago. A race which had laid dormant for generations until thay had been !
forgotten and believed themselves human. Soon the pain became too much for him and he began to slip into a coma.
As Darrian's eyes filled with darkness, so did his mind. As he slipped into a realm of dreams, his conscious self began to slip. His memories all shattered in an instant from his intense pain. Darrian, the son of Matthius and Natalya, died in the forest though his body and soul lived on.
A few days later a hunter named Jericho iscovered a body lying unconscious in the woods. A man who seemed to be a crossbreed between a human and a wildcat. He brought the lifeless boy home and carried him into his house. Jericho and his daughter Naoko cared for the young one, they nursed him back to health and retaught him to speak and walk (things he had forgotten). In the village he worked for two years and learned to fight. He was named "Johnny" by Naoko, and because of a burn scar on the back of his neck in the shape of a "0" he was given the nickname "Johnny Zero".
He was trained in the fighting art of the Kali-Yuga staff by Jericho and trained to grapple by a seaman named Drax. After H'Astur returned with Gerado to find Darrian, they destroyed the village, murderd all the people there and left them to burn as an example for all to see what happens to those who aid the enemies of Gerado. JZ was away at the time of a learning journey with Drax. He returned only to see his whole family, his whole life destroyed. As he heald his adopted sister's body close to his and felt her hair for the last time, he came to understand a new emotion, one Jericho had not taught him, JZ felt hatred. He swore revenge and went out to fight and find those who twice have stolen everything from him, to destroy all those like them.
That was two years ago. Since then JZ has discovered a life that he can call his own. He has found his calling as a fighter, and accepted his destiny to destroy those who would harm his close friends. In his first run with a fighting organization, JZ met his now best friend, Tessen D'Ayanara and formed a effective and incredibly dangerous tag team fighting unit named, Zero Signal. Other than Tessen, who JZ views as a little sister, Johnny has withdrawn from everyone he ever called a friend and has become much more of a cold and vicious loner than before.
The only thing that keeps him from becoming an animilistic savage is his friendship, unwavering trust, and brotherly affection for Tessen D'Ayanara. Theyoung female cyborg seems to be the only person who can control JZ, and the only one he seems human around. Perhaps she is his only link to the world now, the only thing that still drives him. He must protect her, help her achieve what she wishes, because other than her,JZ is burned out, he has nothing. For him there is no tomorrow.and that makes the catboy called Johnny Zero, a very dangerous man.
