![]() Doyle Madakko
Alias:
None specifically… In his own time, there were quite a few names that the locals would call him. Everywhere he seemed to go, his reputation seemed to proceed himself. In each of those locations there was some heroic title used to address him, but since his leap through time, he is probably about as well known as the guy next door.
Description: Doyle stands 5’9” tall, and while not overly bulky he is highly defined. Highly unusual to see an elf that is this big, he easily blends in with other humans. His dark brown that hangs down to the middle of his back also helps to hide his pointed ears. He weighs about 180 pounds and has hazel eyes. Although his elven blood allows him to live for very long, he appears to be about 21 years old for human years.
Powers / Abilities / Skills:
Style:
Sword caster. (A mix of swordsmanship and magic)
Doyle uses a unique sword style that is highly inclusive only to elves. It is known as ‘Blade Song’. The reason for the name is thusly dubbed as the user is taught how two fight with two blades, and the resulting mastery provides a level that allow the blades to ‘sing’ through the air.
Psychic: (Although not well versed, he knows a few tricks of the trade)
Inner Growth: Boosting his physical attributes
Magic: (This is where the bulk of his non-physical abilities lie. The following are a list of spheres where he can draw from)
Elemental Plane: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, etc.
Healing: self-explanatory
Necromancy: darker, life-stealing magic.
Manipulation: Changing the physical aspects of items. (Mass, Size, etc.)
Weapons:
2 short swords: made of silver from an expert weapon smith, enchanted from a renowned sorcerer, and blessed by a priest. Short bow. 6” retractable claws (made of silver and enchanted as above) that rest dormant in his forearm guards. 6 throwing knives. Assortment of arrows.
Armor:
An enchanted suit of leather armor. There is a metal breastplate sandwiched between the two layers of leather that cover his chest.
Personality:
For the most part, Doyle is what he likes to call a ‘swordcaster’ for hire. He roams the land choosing never to settle in. The thrill of being somewhere new and taking on new challenges is what fuels him. Although he never charges more than he has to, he knows when it’s appropriate. If he’s on a menial task by a king to retrieve a chest of gold, then he sets a high price. But if he’s searching for the kidnapped child of a poor family, a simple place to sleep is all that he asks in return. His good heart and brute strength have made a name for him in all of his travels.
Background:
Doyle was raised by a normal elven community. At the age of 8, Doyle’s family was on a quest to hunt down a dragon that had been threatening the community. Known for their great skill, Doyle’s parents had been off fighting through most of his first 8 years. However, on this trip they were out classed and forced to retreat. To make a long story short the dragon found the village and destroyed everyone and everything, save one.
Examining the ruins, a woodland couple found the child. They took him back to their home and raised him as their own. As he grew, he began to want to follow in the footsteps of his adopted parents. Like his birth parents, they were warriors. There was one difference though, they didn’t fight for money. They fought to preserve peace and hope.
Growing up, he was schooled from his mother in the arts of druidic magic. From his father, he learned tracking and survival skills as well as a unique sword fighting style; a style that was only known to a select few elves... Blade Song.
Years past... As Doyle grew up he ventured out on his own following his own heart. Filled with kindness he offered his help to others less fortunate than him at the mere cost of a home cooked meal. His name became known and began to spread. His kindness also turned out to be his downfall. On one particular job assignment, he fell victim to a charm spell. Believing he had fallen in love, they spent the night together. When morning came, he awoke nearly life-less and left to die.
Doyle managed to recover, after a couple days under the care of a local priest. He still pressed on, doing deeds for others... but at the same time, never forgot his betrayal. As time had passed, he locked his personal feelings away for fear that they would cause a similar incident in the future.
One day, while fighting a Chronomancer, Doyle was hit off-guard. Unlike normal spells, the result of such a spell sent him hurtling through time. Awaking in the present day, Doyle is completely lost with how ‘modern’ everything is.
Side note:
Here is the reason for the same last name. Genrou is the son that Doyle never knew he had. He was conceived on the night where Doyle was taken advantage of and left to die. Neither one had ever met the other. Doyle was hurtled through time before his son’s birth.
