![]() Lady Yui
![]() Aliases:
Lilith, Shiva.
Appearance:
Age: Unknown. She existed before the Big Bang that created this universe, though, so hundreds of billions of years old...you kinda loose track of the years after that long...hence, "Unknown." Apparent age is about 25.
Height: Dependent on form. Human is 6'2".
Weight: Again, dependent on form. Human is 150lbs.
Hair: Normally blond and short (though she can make it become any color or length at will).
Eyes: Unbroked field of glowing blue...no pupils, no whites, just all blue.
(Note: A sword harness is normally worn strapped across her chest so that when sheathed the hilt rides above her right shoulder, though it is usually kept hidden with one of her powers like her wings unless she wants it to be seen. The animals are her four main fighting forms, and are not proportionate in size to Yui. She is almost always attended by a pack of seven monstrous black hounds.)
Personality:
She is very proper and haughty. Aristocratic. Sure of herself and secure of her powers. While she can be friendly and very emotional at times, you don't want to piss her off. When angered past reason she gets rather viscous...^_^'
Fighting Style:
Main: Sorcery. Shape-shifting. Powers of the Black.
Back-up: Mideival Weaponry. Divine. Mental.
Powers/Abilities/Skills:
Sorcery - Mostly elemental air and water, though she can create minor items if needed and create shields which she can manipulate. She uses a special form of mage sight that sees the world in a kind of infa-red spectrum, except that instead of heat it detects magic, something that all things create, natural things more than artificial, animate more than inanimate. This is not blocked by physiacl barriers, and can be extended up to a range of ten miles (usually only for finding ley lines and nodes). (Note: She has had a long time to completely master these powers. She does not do things half way...expect the unexpected, with precise, controlled use of all aspects of her magic.)
Shape-shifting - I think everyone has figured this one out...it doesn't take very long to complete a transformation, and it is an innate ability of her race. Technically she is not limited to what she can shift into, but for fighting she is most comfortable using the forms shown in the drawing (including fire-lizard form, which is not shown). Specific powers only abe to be used in dragon/fire-lizard form: Teleportation and Telekinesis. Gryphon, dragon, and firelizard, naturally, can fly. (Note: Dragon form is very large...about 1-1/2 times the length of a jumbo jet (nose to tail), with a wingspan of about 100 feet (wingtip to wingtip). Firelizard = size of a medium sized house cat. Wolf = size of small pony. Unicorn = large thoroughbred size. Gryphon = about 1-1/2 times the size of a large draft horse.)
The Powers of the Black - negative energy, cancellation, illusion, I think everyone pretty much knows what it is and does after seeing the Budokai. (Note: This power is seperate from magic. It uses a different source of power. Just because she uses up her magic does not mean she has exhausted these powers as well.)
Midieval Weaponry - The only skill with a sword she has is with her own jivatma, whose magical properties give her the ability to fight with it like a master swordsman, but only with that blade. The blade contains the soul of a water nymph, and can create a tsunami when invoked. No one who doesn't know the blade's name can attempt to wield it without rather fatal consequences.
Divine - If driven to the point of desperation, she will chant an incantation and summon Seiryuu to aid her. Gally has the description of what Seiryuu is capable of since I don't feel like telling everyone all about it. I've had too many bad experiences with people using out-of-character knowledge in-character. (So far the worst Yui's been driven to using is her dragon form, so it takes a great deal to make her fall to her last resort.)
Mental: Telepathy is another innate ability of her race, and she can use it in all forms. Dominate: This power is fairly useless in this environment, but is the means by which one person forcibly takes mental control of another and commands them to do as they wish. She taught Caine this power, so is therefore considered to be a 1st gen for the purposes of using it.
Presence: This power is also fairly useless in the online RP/RFing environment, but is the means by which one person makes others around her fear, love, hate, etc. her. She can make someone either run in fear from her, or find themself in complete awe of her. Yui has the power of Majesty pretty much constantly on, though its only real effect is that others see her as being regal and queenlike. Because it once again, like Dominate, directly effects another person's character it can't really be used to the same effect as it is in tabletop or live action Vampire, but for the purposes of using it she is, again, the equivalent of a 1st gen.
Obfuscate: This power allows the user to make herself, others, or inanimate objects completely invisible to someone looking at her. Using this power she can also make things or others appear to be anything she wants, including herself. The one drawback is that something or someone hidden through use of this power can be seen using any sort of camera or video imaging equipment. Also, someone with the ability Auspex can see through it, but only if they have at least an equal level in the power as the hidden person. Yui is considered to, once again, be a 1st gen for the use of this power.
(Note: The only first generation vampire is Caine. There are no second generation vampires...the third gens killed them all (which is why Caine then cursed tham all). The Antediluvians of the clans are all (or were...) considered to be third generation vampires. However, this does NOT make Lilith a vampire. Questions look at page 39 of the Book of Nod.)
Finally, Yui has wings and retractable claws in human form. She keeps the wings hidden through use of Obfuscate. The claws grow to almost a foot long when unsheathed, and are unbreakable and razor sharp.
Weapons:
Her jivatma is the only "weapon" she uses. She is a blue-silver steel longsword, set with a blue stone in her pommel, and runes that run down the flat of her blade. (Yes, I am refering to the sword as a female...)
Background:
*LOL* Okay, you asked for it...
(Important Theory to understand to make sense of her background: The "Universe" is contained within the "Antiverse." The Antiverse is constantly exerting a crushing force on the Universe, causing it to compact down over an infinite number of years. When the Universe has been compacted down as small as it can be, the forces within cause it to explode, creating a "Big Bang" which forces the Antiverse back again, and the process starts all over.)
Before the beginning, there was Seiryuu, God of the True People, whose empire reigned supream in the Final Days. It came to pass in this time that a young acolyte ascended as a shining star to become She-Who-Is-Closest-To-Heaven, Voice of Seiryuu, most Blessed of the True People. She was granted visions and eternal life, so as to lead her people through the trials of the Last Days. But in the end, That-Which-Cannot-Be-Named won out, and the Child found herself alone, blessed and cursed by her immortality to survive.
Though she prayed for Old-Man-Who-Brings-Peace to take her, he would not, such was the power of Seiryuu's will, for He had chosen her to accompany Him into what was to come. Placing the Child into sleep, the God sealed Himself with her into the haven He had prepared for this moment, selfishly refusing to return to creation the power that had created Him. In this way the two rode out The-Coming-of-Darkness, followed by The-Light-That-Is-Reborn.
In the beginning, there was nothing. Then the power of creation coalesced into mind and will. For time uncounted He was content to merely observe, but then grew lonely, for even Gods desire companionship. Looking upon earth beneath Him, He brought life to it in the form of air and water, plant and animal. For five days He labored on Creation. But He was not happy, for something was missing.
It was at this time that Seiryuu emerged from His haven. The two Gods found each other, younger facing older, and at this time the New God chose for Himself a name, that He might be as the elder. He named Himself Jehova. Seeing the companion Seiryuu had brought with Him, Jehova was both pleased and envious. Thus it came to pass on the sixth day that He created Man and breathed Life unto him, naming him Adam.
Resting from His efforts, Jehova watched his creation and was pleased by what He had made. But Adam, alone and without companionship, made plea unto Jehova for a mate, for though the animals of the Earth were two, Adam was only one. Jehova met with Seiryuu, and persuaded Him to set His follower on Earth that she and Adam might find companionship together.
She-Who-Is-Closest-To-Heaven woke to find herself in a new, strange place. Adam found her and asked her if she had a name. She called herself Lilith, what in her language meant She-Who-Is-The-Last. Then Adam, in mimicry of the beasts of the Earth (for he had been given no instruction otherwise and knew no better) came unto Lilith intending to mate, but Lilith would not allow herself to be placed beneath him as one who is subservient, for she was his equal. In a rage, Adam forced himself on her, and afterwards she ran from the Garden that Jehova had made. Seiryuu, angered over the treatment of Lilith, cursed Adam with unquenchable lust, and so Adam was forced into congress with the beasts of the Earth. Jehova, sorrowed by what His Creation had done, raised Lilith from the Earth, and for one week became her lover.
However, Jehova also took pity on Adam and put him into a sleep, during which time He removed a rib from Adam and from it grew a female in Lilith's form, so that His Creation would have a proper mate with which to satisfy his lust, giving Adam the power of her naming. Adam named her Eve. Jehova, though, grew tired of Lilith when she thought herself His equal, and cast her back down to Earth. Seiryuu, in retribution for her humiliation, came unto the Garden in the guise of a serpent, and spoke unto Eve, convincing her to take part in that which Jehova had forbidden.
Lilith, meanwhile, wandered the Earth, in time making her own Garden which she named Nod. She led many other lives and had many other journies, taking many different names throughout the millenia. But that...is another story.
